True Tale #27 – Above Average Driver
![]() |
Most of us that commute to work need a little place to vent on our daily commutes. This is where http://www.AboveAverageDriver.com came in. It is the place to vent on bad drivers, or report on unsafe drivers around the country and it shows. It has existed for over seven years and is the webs largest collection of unsafe drivers, reported by other drivers throughout the US (and some parts of the world).
About the Book
For some of us, it’s the automated voice that answers the phone when we’d rather talk to a real person. For others, it’s the fact that Starbucks insists on calling its smallest sized coffee “tall.” Or perhaps it’s those pesky subscription cards that fall out of magazines. Whatever it is, each of us finds some aspect of everyday life to be particularly maddening, and we often long to lash out at these stubborn irritants of modern life.
In Lifes’s Little Annoyances, Ian Urbina chronicles the lengths to which some people will go when they have endured their pet peeves long enough and are not going to take it any more.
The Media Gets "Annoyed"
Whether it's the season or something unique to newspaper journalists, several of the nations biggest newspapers have recently weighed in with raves for LIFE'S LITTLE ANNOYANCES. USA Today, in a review of the audio edition declares "Go ahead, access that inner Grinch." and calls the book "screamingly funny".
And if we had a contest for most annoyed state, it looks like Texas would be the frontrunner based on coverage in local papers. The Houston Chronicle proclaims the book a "goldmine of ideas as well as web sites to help us wage personal and quiet vengeance against those who annoy us" and The Dallas Morning News says "Let's Get Petty".
